“Steamboat Bill” is about the rivalry between Steamboat Bill, the captain of a paddle steamer, and the newly rich banker Mr. Kim, who wants to compete with him with a new steamboat. Bill calls his son William home from Boston to support him, but he is not the tough guy the old captain had hoped for. To make things worse, William falls in love with his father’s rival’s daughter.
